Controller PC7000 is an independently operating device in a box
for bus installation and powered by 220 V. It can operate with a
directly connected sensor Platina 100 or receive a signal from a
sensor with output 4-20 mA. It has two independent controllers built-in,
each of which may operate in "heater" mode or "cooler" mode and
with control over own relay with normal open and closed relay contacts
output.
Each of the two control channels may be programmed in the desired
mode using a window comparator, locked between an Upper and a Lower
limit. The controller's limit values are easily programmed through
the three buttons on the front panel. The controller mode may be
selected from the settings menus, protected by a password. All programmed
values are preserved in the controller's memory in case of power
cuts.
The controllers are calibrated by the manufacturer to ensure high
accuracy of the range of operation. The length of a 3-wire cable
with a Pt100 sensor is selected by the client in advance as well
as the type of the head for the installation.
The operator monitors the temperature of the working environment
on a red four-digit display, while a smaller green display shows
the maximum temperature achieved after the latest resetting of the
indication from the keyboard. The reading of the maximum value remains
on the screen in case of power cuts and a second restarting of the
controller until manually reset by the operator.
The two displays are used to facilitate the setting process. All
settings are performed using only three buttons. A four-digit password
is needed to change the operating mode of any channel. The change
of the upper and lower temperature limits for the operation of the
two controllers does not require a password.
When operating the controllers performs constant measurements of
the temperature of connected sensor. The calculation algorithm includes
a filter, an integrator and linearization constants thus ensuring
the high accuracy and linearity in the range from 0 to 350 °C. The
controller performs 5 measurements per second. The switching on
or off of the relay of any of the two channels takes place after
5 seconds of the consistent measurement of any exceeded value set
as a control limit.
The operation algorithm incorporates a number of checks and messages
of errors both during operation and the mode of setting. The error
messages always switch off the controlling relays and are displayed
with blinking on the operation screen.

The operating condition of the two relay contacts of the built-in
relays is indicated by LEDs next to the digital temperature display.
The two controllers operate independently and may be set to have different
upper and lower limits.

In HEATER mode, the selected controller (for relay 1 or relay 2) aims
to keep the operating unit switched on (e.g. heater) until the set
Upper temperature limit is reached, i.e. the respective relay contact
has been switched on. After 5 seconds of its constant exceeding, the
controller switches off its relay contact until the temperature lowering
of the sensor below the set Lower temperature limit has been firmly
established, when the contact will be again switched on. The precision
of the control depends on the difference determined between the two
limits, taking into account the nature of the controlled environment.
In COOLER mode, a relay contact for the selected controller will be
switched on to control, for example, a fan, until the set Lower temperature
limit has been reached. After this limit has been reached, the relay
is switched off and will be switched on again if the temperature reaches
the set Upper limit.
The operator is free to select the channel to control a particular
unit. Without dismantling the module in the future, it is possible
to turn around the logic of a normally open and normally closed relay
contact. This may be achieved by programming using the settings menus,
if the four-digit password is known, without any necessity to move
live cables or to dismantle the controller. In all cases of error
messages on the display or performance of settings during operation,
the two control channels are switched off.
According to the respective needs and the specifics of the operating
units, one PC 7000 controller is sufficient to configure a system
with the following versions:
| controller 1 - |
heater |
heater |
cooler |
cooler |
| controller 2 - |
heater |
cooler |
heater |
cooler |
It is also possible to configure a system with one heater and PC 7000
controller with two relay outputs. A sound alarm or another device
may be connected to the second relay contact. The two controllers
are in HEATER mode, however the controller triggering the sound alarm
has higher Upper and Lower limits than the one, controlling the heater.
It is possible to handle simultaneously 3 operating units with one
PC 7000 controller, e.g. a heater, a fan and a sound alarm, and in
that case the normal open and the normal closed relay contacts will
be used on one of the two channels.
Upon the order of PC 7000 controller are specified the settings apart
from those of the basic model - 1 or 2 relay contacts, with or without
interface, with determined length and sensor type. The devices are
calibrated by the manufacturer and come complete with operating instructions
manual, a warranty card and provision of maintenance.
The controller is part of the ordinary manufacturing process and is
kept in store by Technosens Ltd. Varna.
The device comes complete with an operation manual and a warranty.
